Nasal Suspension with Drawing/Mixing

Medication nasal suspension  

Directions for mixing prior to use  

  1. Gather empty spray bottle, spray nozzle, one capsule, and one bottle of sterile water for irrigation. 
  2. Take lid off of spray bottle and discard. This will not be needed after mixing. 
  3. Open bottle of irrigation water and draw up 10ml of water. Add to nasal spray bottle. 4. Open capsule and disperse powder into spray bottle with water. 
  4. Attach nasal spray nozzle and screw on firmly. 
  5. Wait 1 – 2 minutes and then shake well to mix medication. Proceed to use. 
  6. Store at refrigerated temperature for up to 14 days from time of mixing as long as it is stored properly. 
  7. At the end of 14 days, discard product and mix new bottle if continuing with therapy. Use varies, depending on medication. Talk to your pharmacist or prescriber if you are unsure of intended use. 

Side effects 
that may occur slight burning in nose, back of throat, or around eyes, a sense of gagging, and unpleasant taste. Consult prescriber or pharmacist is side effects are severe, bothersome. Or a rash develops. 

Precautions 
Do not use if there is a known allergy to active ingredient. Follow prescriber’s instructions carefully. Do not use more than prescribed. 

Directions 

  1. Remove cap from nasal applicator. 
  2. Prime the pump by pressing, downwards on the collar of pump and releasing. This only needs to be done if pump is new or hasn’t been used in a while. Repeat several times until a fine mist appears. 
  3. Spray is to be used in nostril or nostrils as directed. 
  4. Blow nose to clear nostrils. 
  5. Tilt head slightly forward while pressing down on nostril of unaffected side with finger. Insert nasal applicator into other nostril. 
  6. Press down on collar of pump while deeply breathing in through the nose unless otherwise instructed. Repeat this process if more than one spray is to be used. 
  7. Replace cap. 

Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.
