A lot has been going on behind the scenes at O’Brien Pharmacy this year, including our continued efforts to advocate for compounded medicines, supplements, and homeopathic remedies. The outreach from us to our representatives throughout the year culminates during May and September when we go to Capitol Hill with our agendas. With sponsorship by PCCA, owner of O’Brien Pharmacy Lisa Everett Andersen and her husband, Dr. Arden Andersen, will attend the ACT Legislative Conference with a special mission to express concern over the proposed FDA plan to take away the comment period given to considered regulations. Without a comment period, the FDA can bulldoze through ideas without pause, and as we already know from our fight to save bio-identical hormone replacement, this could spell disaster. During their time in D.C., Lisa and Arden will attend a reception for Senator Ted Budd of North Carolina who has been dedicated to protecting your right to compounded medications. They will also visit face-to-face with as many representatives from the state of Kansas as they can over a two day period. Finally, their time in D.C. ends with a coffee they will host for Senator Roger Marshall, giving all attending parties a more relaxed environment to discuss what Senator Marshall may be able to do to help our cause.
