Losartan Ophthalmic

Use 
Common uses include treatment of corneal scarring or fibrosis.  

Side Effects 
Losartan eye drops are generally well tolerated but have the potential to cause blurred vision, dizziness, headache, light sensitivity, nasal congestion.  

Precautions 
This medication is for use in the eye. Stop medication and contact prescriber if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, itching, difficulty breathing, skin rash development, or any other intolerable effects. 

Directions 
Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash hands before and after use. Remove contacts before use and wait at least 15 minutes after use before reinserting. Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down with your index finger to form a pouch. Try not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye, or any other surface. Gently squeeze the bottle and instill the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close your eye and apply light pressure to the inner corner of the eye for 2 minutes, then you may open your eye. Close the bottle tightly and return eye drop bottle to refrigerator. If using at the same time as other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each eye drop. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose.  

Storage 
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Store unused bottles in the freezer for up to 45 days. Place frozen bottle in the refrigerator to thaw 8 hours prior to first use. Store current use bottle in the refrigerator. Use one bottle per 72 hours refrigerated and discard, even if some remains, and start a new bottle with the next dose. Protect from light. Keep the container tightly closed. Do not use after the beyond use date.
