Anal Fissure/Hemorrhoid Ointments

Use
Common uses include relieving the anorectal symptoms associated with hemorrhoids or anal fissures and temporarily reduces the swelling associated with irritated hemorrhoidal tissue and other anorectal disorders to provide significant pain relief during the healing process.
Side Effects
Systemic side effects are unusual. However, the components of this compounded medication may cause mild headache and/or lightheadedness.
Precautions
Use caution when standing up, especially when rising out of bed in the morning. If you experience fainting or severe nausea, lightheadedness, or bleeding, notify your provider. If the condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days, notify your provider for further treatment.
Directions
Before application, wash your hands thoroughly with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly. Clean the affected area with mild soap and warm water, rinse thoroughly and gently dry (patting or blotting) with tissue or soft cloth before use. If using fingers or finger cots, gently apply a small amount of cream externally or to the skin of the affected area only. If using a dispensing cap, attach it to the tube and lubricate it as needed, then insert part way into the anal canal and squeeze tube to deliver the medication. Thoroughly clean the dispensing cap after use with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Wash hands after using. Avoid using the bathroom for at least 1 hour after application.
Storage
Caution packaging may not be childproof. Store at room temperature. If exposed to extreme heat or pressure differential, contents may leak. Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.
