4-Aminopyridine Capsules

This drug was compounded for you by O’Brien Pharmacy according to your provider’s prescription. Use 
Common uses include symptomatic treatment for multiple sclerosis. 

Side effects 
Tingling sensations around the mouth and in the hands and feet, dizziness, anxiety, abdominal pain and headache. This medication is generally tolerated well at doses of 0.5mg/kg per day or less. Higher than recommend doses (greater than 0.5/kg per day) have been associated with seizures. 

Precautions 
Use exactly according to your prescriber’s directions. Report any side effects or abnormal physical symptoms to your provider or pharmacist. Do not exceed dosage prescribed by your prescriber. 

Directions 
This medication is individually calculated based on your body weight and this dosage should not be deviated from unless instructed to by your prescriber. Capsules are routinely prepared in 5mg and 10mg doses. Also available in 5mg, 1omg, 15mg and 20mg sustained release capsules, as well as customized strengths based on body weight. 

Storage 
Store in the original container at room temperature.  

Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain. You have the right to know about the proper use of your medication and its effects.
